Day 2: Auckland to Rotorua (The Thermal City)

After breakfast proceed for an overview of Auckland city tour that includes highlights like Harbor Bridge and waterfront drive. Drive past the West Haven Marina, the War Memorial Museum and through the Parnell, and Next we proceed towards Rotorua. En route get set for fun as you proceed to Matamata to the Hobbiton Movie set, which was a significant location for the “Lord of the Rings” Movie Trilogy and “The Hobbit” film series. Highlight of the tour includes Bagshot Row, Party Tree and Bilbos Bag end home. There are now 44 hobbit holes on view. Later return to the hotel. Overnight at hotel in Auckland.

Day 3: Auckland Te Puia Thermal Reserve. Rainbow Springs & Agrodome Show

After breakfast proceed to see Te Puia Thermal Reserve where you can enjoy watching boiling mud pools and roaring geysers. This geothermal valley is a special place, for all generations. The environment alone is of enormous geological significance, with thermal activity ranging from boiling mud to the world-famous 30-metre Pohutu geyser, erupting up to 20 times each day. Hot springs, boiling sulphurous pools, silica terraces and bubbling mud pools are among the natural wonders. Following this, visit Rainbow Springs to see New Zealand’s trout, birds and wildlife. Where else can you see kiwi foraging in their natural habitat, a huge array of wildlife, trout being hand fed in beautiful spring fed pools and stunning New Zealand landscape. Later, continue to the Agrodome for a New Zealand farm show featuring sheep dog demonstrations, cow milking and an introduction to the stars of our sheep industry. You will be introduced to 19 breeds of sheep and will witness a live sheep shearing demonstration. Be amazed by the remarkable Huntaway dogs and our Strong-eye Heading dog as they demonstrate their ability to respond to commands and keep those sheep in line! Enjoy afternoon at leisure. Day 4: Auckland to Queenstown, New Zealand’s adventure capital

After breakfast, check out and proceed to the airport to board your domestic flight to Queenstown. Welcome to the adventure capital surrounded by majestic mountains and nestled on the shores of crystal clear Lake Wakatipu. Its stunning scenery is inspiring and revitalizing. Next experience the famous Gondola ride to Bob’s peak, also a fast-convenient access to the best views in the region, which is reputed to be the steepest lift in the Southern Hemisphere. Day 5: Queenstown – Milford sound Cruise

After breakfast depart from Queenstown and travel via Te Anau through the awe-inspiring Homer Tunnel and the stunning glacier-carved Eglington Valley, to arrive at Milford Sound & enjoy the unforgettable Milford Sound cruise, which sails right up to the mouth of the Tasman Sea (weather permitting). Enjoy lunch on board the cruise. Journey into the untouched paradise of Milford Sound and explore the natural wonders and history surrounding. Today you have an option of taking a Helicopter ride with Glacier Landing (Weather permitting) back to Queenstown. Overnight at hotel in Queenstown.

Day 6: Cape Town – Full day Peninsula Tour

After breakfast you are free to enjoy this adventurous city on your own. You have many options to do in Queenstown, go and explore the city on your own. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Queenstown to Glacier Region

After breakfast get ready to transfer to Glacier Region which takes around 5 hrs. drive. Please check out of the hotel on time. Today you will travel along the shores of Lake Wanaka and Hawea to the Haast Pass, gateway to world heritage Westland National Park. Continue up the West Coast past spectacular mountain ranges, native forests and lakes to the Glacier Region of Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers. Arrive hotel, check in and relax. Overnight at hotel in Glacier Region.

Day 8: Glacier Region to Christchurch

After breakfast ready to move forward to Greymouth (approx. 2.5hrs), from where you will board the Tranz Alpine train. You will be picked up from the hotel, for your transfer. Today you will travel through the lush beech forests past the alpine village of Arthur’s Pass before crossing the spectacular Southern Alps. Travel over the Canterbury Plains to reach Christchurch – The Garden City. Day 4: Paro

Morning drive a short distance to visit Drukgyel Dzong – this 1644 AD fortress now in ruins has a glorious history. This is where the Bhutanese won the decisive battle with invading Tibetan army. Therefore that name of the fortress has been given as Drukgyel Dzong or the ‘Victory of Bhutan’. The fortress has been destroyed by a fire which broke in 1950s – it provides a very good understanding of Dzong architecture.

Start trekking uphill towards Taktshang Monastery. An uphill ascent through wooded forest will take you to cafeteria from where one can get a very good view of Taktshang Monastery clinging to a 3000 foot cliff in the middle of a forest, around two hours steep trek from Paro Taksang monastery “Tiger Nest” is an amazing piece of architecture. Locals here believe that it is where Guru Padmasambhava (or Guru Rimpoche the founder of Tibetan Buddhism – of sect of it practiced in Bhutan) first landed on a flying tiger. Overnight at hotel.

Built by Lama Drukpa Kunlay a revered monk dedicated to “Divine Madam of Fertility” locales believe that deity of this temple bless infertile women with children, thus women flocks here from far flunk places seeking the blessings from Divine Madam of Fertility. Day 4: Punakha – Paro

Morning drive to Paro (125 Km) visiting Wangdiphodrang en route. Wangdi Phodrang valley lies in the junction of Mo Chu and Tang Chu rivers on the east-west traverse road beyond Thimphu. Wangdi Phodrang Dzong stands on the confluence of the rivers and Dzongpon (monk body) of Wangdi Phodrang is considered to be one of the most powerful for many centuries now. Arrive Paro and check in at hotel with rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5: Paro

Morning proceed on a sightseeing tour of Paro visiting Rinpung Dzong – literarily meaning ‘A Heap of Jewels’ this imposing fort on bank of Paro Chu (river) which accessed by a cantilever wooden bridge Rinpung Dzong has (monastery fortress) successfully resisted successive Tibetan invasions. Built in 1645 AD this Dzong (a very unique feature of Dzong architecture is that nails are not used in joining the wooden beams). This Dzong has fourteen shrines and chapels inside decorated with colourful paintings, murals its walls. This Dzong at present serves as the administrative office of Paro district doubling with head of Monk Body of the area. Around 200 monks reside inside the Dzong. Ta-Dzong – Built in 1651 AD in a shape of a castle Ta Dzong has actually been constructed as a watch tower to keep an eye on invaders. Today it has been turned into National Museum that houses an elaborate collection of arts, relics, Thanka paintings (scroll religious paintings) reflecting rich cultural heritage of the country. Kichu Lhakhang – located in the outskirts of the town it is one of the oldest monastery in Bhutan. Legend has it the Kichu Lhakhang is on the 108 monasteries constructed by King Gampo miraculously over the night. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6: Depart Paro

Morning drive a short distance to visit Drukgyel Dzong – this 1644 AD fortress now in ruins has a glorious history. This is where the Bhutanese won the decisive battle with invading Tibetan army. Therefore that name of the fortress has been given as Drukgyel Dzong or the ‘Victory of Bhutan’. The fortress has been destroyed by a fire which broke in 1950s – it provides a very good understanding of Dzong architecture.

Start hiking uphill towards Taktshang Monastery. An uphill ascent through wooded forest will take you to cafeteria from where one can get a very good view of Taktshang Monastery clinging to a 3000 foot cliff in the middle of a forest, around two hours steep trek from Paro Taksang monastery “Tiger Nest” is an amazing piece of architecture. Locals here believe that it is where Guru Padmasambhava (or Guru Rimpoche the founder of Tibetan Buddhism – of sect of it practiced in Bhutan) first landed on a flying tiger.Overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Depart Paro

In time transfer to airport to connect the flight for onward destination.
